Pioneering clinical research suggests that all water may not be the same when it comes to hydration

Research finds that Fitness Water, Inc’s H2Ultra™ technology bottled water shows statistical significance in two re-hydrating markers versus tap water and mineral water.

SEATTLE WA, November 3th, 2006 – Dr. Susan Kleiner, keynote speaker at the Cleveland Dietetic Association annual meeting, announced the findings of a breakthrough clinical study which found that re-hydrating properties of water can be different based on the type of water you are drinking.

The study (conducted by Miami Research Associates a leading clinical research facility) found that while examining healthy males following exercise induced dehydration, Fitness Water, Inc’s H2Ultra technology bottled water demonstrated superior re-hydrating properties versus tap water and commercially available mineral water.

In her presentation, Dr. Kleiner highlighted that nearly one-third of the population is chronically, mildly dehydrated. Chronic mild dehydration results in impaired physiologic responses and diminished mental and physical performance. Research indicates that fluid consumption in general and water consumption in particular can have an effect on the risk of urinary stone disease; cancers of the breast, colon, and urinary tract; fatal coronary artery disease; obesity; and mitral valve prolapse. Current guidelines from the scientific community recommend an increase in water consumption as a solution to help address these issues as well as a method of decreasing overall calorie intake to help combat the obesity epidemic.

A Fitness Water, Inc. spokesperson commented that, “Under the conditions of exercise-induced mild dehydration, Fitness Water, Inc’s H2Ultra technology bottled water demonstrated statistical significance and meaningfully outperformed tap water in re-hydrating after exercise, and sustained a significantly faster rate of re-hydration two hours after exercise. The H2Ultra bottled water also had a greater and statistically significant effect on re-hydration compared to mineral water within 30 minutes and at two hours after exercise”.

The spokesperson added that the study demonstrates that H2Ultra technology bottled water can support the marketing claim that it is an “ultra hydrator” and, is a perfect solution for anyone interested in optimizing personal hydration.
